As a Technical Executive, you will be placed within the Technical and Fleet Management team, undertaking a 12-month training program to develop into a Assistant Technical Superintendent role. This structured program is designed to provide you with the necessary skills and experience to ensure the safe and efficient technical operation of our dry bulk vessels.

Throughout the program, you will gain hands-on experience in vessel management, engage in vessel inspections, and support technical operations while progressively taking on more responsibility. This role provides the unique opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and develop a deep understanding of fleet operations, class and flag requirements, and maintenance procedures.


Month 1 - Onboarding and Familiarisation:

  • To understand and familiarise organisation policies, vessel operating procedures and management systems.
  • To familiarise with the day-to-day work and operations of the technical assistant and the Technical Superintendent.

Months 2 to 12 - On-the-Job Training and Shadowing:

  • To shadow the Technical Superintendent during day-to-day work and assist with vessel inspections on board.
  • To assist the Technical Superintendent in arranging and coordinating maintenance and service required by the vessels.
  • To understand the relevant class and Flag requirements and to update the fleet knowledge bank to the latest requirements.
  • To assist technical superintendent in monitoring vessel’s day-to-day operations and reports.
  • To assist technical superintendent to make a drydock specification for a vessel.
  • To assist and follow-up with post drydocking formalities.

Specific Projects/ Learning Outcomes

  • To check and review vessel’s planned maintenance standard job procedures/ Optimise the PMS, with at least 50% of the reviewed procedures reflecting improved efficiency and compliance standards.
  • To develop at least 3 Just-In-Time (JIT) Technical Training Material for Crew to Improve Maintenance Standards/Improve operational efficiencies. Gain experience in instructional design and crew training development by creating concise, on-demand training materials.
  • To automate process of checking of vessel’s month end reports. / Acquire technical skills in process automation and data management by designing and implementing an automated system for reviewing monthly operational and maintenance reports. This will involve identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), setting up automation tools, and integrating the system into the existing workflow.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime related field.
  • Internship experience in maritime related industry will be an advantage.
  • Able to prioritise workload.
  • Adequate PC knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Proficient in English language.
  • Good communication skills
