JOB REQUIREMENT / RESPONSIBILITIES

Role:

The role of a Senior IT support Engineer involves providing advanced technical assistance and guidance to resolve complex IT issues. They typically have extensive experience and expertise in various IT systems, networks, and software applications.

The Senior IT support Engineer will also work with other IT teams to ensure that the organization's IT systems are aligned with the business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing technical support to clients or employees. This may include troubleshooting and resolving software or hardware issues, providing training on how to use IT systems, and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Responsible Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues including Investigate and resolve network outages or performance bottlenecks.
  • Configuration and deployment of network equipment (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls), Maintain and update network documentation and diagrams
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for junior IT support staff, providing guidance and assistance when they encounter challenging problems.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing new IT solutions. This may involve working with clients or employees to identify their needs, researching and evaluating new technologies, and designing and implementing new solutions.
  • Establish and review processes, procedures, policies and access account to comply with internal/external audit
  • Responsible for providing training and support to users. This may include training on how to use new software or hardware, providing helpdesk support, and creating user documentation.

EDUCATION / ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

  • Prefers for Degree or Diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

KEY REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • At least 5 years IT Support Engineer experience
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and independence
  • Ability to work on assigned task independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong technical skills. This includes knowledge of a wide range of IT systems and software, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of networking protocols, network security principles, cyber security best practices and experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills. This includes the ability to communicate effectively with clients or employees, as well as the ability to write clear and concise documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. This includes the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues, as well as the ability to develop and implement solutions to those issues.
  • Certified or equipped with in-depth knowledge in server hosting operations, network, IT security and server/storage technology
  • Expected to work the necessary hours to complete duties and/or fulfil responsibility
  • Good analytical, vendor/partner management skills.
  • MCSA/MCSE, Azure Fundamentals and/or CCNA will be added advantage.
