ERM is seeking a motivated Consulting Associate/Senior Associate, Environmental Impact Assessment to join our global consulting firm in our Singapore office. As a new consultant at ERM, you will work closely with Project Managers on a variety of projects.

This position will focus primarily on environmental and social impact assessment conducted to meet international standards to facilitate the financing, development, construction, and operation of commercial-scale capital projects in Singapore.

As an entry level consultant, you will gain exposure to a range of environmental, social, and health impact assessment assignments to build a sustainable business both nationally and regionally, while networking with ERM's technical teams to share best practices across the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation of discipline-specific reports, Environmental Checklists, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), international standard environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA) and related activities in support of ERM clients’ capital projects (e.g., renewable energy projects, power generation, electrical transmission).
  • Provide technical assistance on environmental impact assessments and sustainability-related projects.
  • Prepare plans, assessments and reports for a range environment, biodiversity, social and health related issues.
  • Conduct environment and social-related field work.
  • Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance national and local regulations.
  • Provide general environmental compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance, as needed.
  • Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation.
  • Perform project tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Support client liaison and assist in the preparation of presentation materials.
  • Support the management and coordination of specialist subcontractors.
  • Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to deliver exceptional client value on projects.
  • Provide business value based on a strong understanding of clients’ needs and raising the profile of ERM’s capabilities within key client organizations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters in environmental studies, engineering, social science, planning, geography or related disciplines.
  • Environmental engineering background is preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Interest in noise and air quality modelling and assessments
  • Willingness/interest in field assignments.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify solutions to resolve conflicts.
  • Effective English written/verbal communication
  • Good organization/analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, speak persuasively and develop rapport internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while functioning within a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Positive outlook, collaborative, and driven by the success of ERM as a global company.
  • Experience assisting with preparing reports, letters, memos, standard forms, and agreements.
  • Deadline oriented and adaptable to diverse environments (i.e. construction work areas, inclement weather, etc.).
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting deadlines.
