Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to assist in the growth of the Transactional Risks team, the main area of new business procurement.

Lockton also has a substantial Transactional Risks presence globally, with teams in the US, Nordics, APAC and MENA.

The core focus of the team is to provide services with a view to mitigating M&A transactional risks. The TR team achieves specifically this by advising on, structuring and executing Warranty & Indemnity, Tax Liability and Contingent Risk insurance products.

We are looking for a PE specialist, someone who can both develop existing relationships and can source new deal flow across Real Estate and Private Equity M&A, to be placed by our TR brokers.

Job Description

  • Lead Business Development position, client facing role.
  • Developing new and consolidating current relationships in Singapore and wider APAC markets.
  • Originating transactions in the M&A sector.
  • Building the Lockton TR Brand within the M&A sector.
  • Leading the Transactional Risks team’s Business Development and Social Media strategies.
  • Organizing profile raising events, presentations, conferences and PR campaigns.
  • Managing events, including hosting tables at appropriate conferences and dinners (i.e. MergerMarkets, MingTiandi etc).
  • Working effectively with other Business Development colleagues across the global TR teams and Lockton (in particular the Real Estate & Construction and Financial Institutions teams), to promote “One Lockton” and to collaborate and collectively deliver new business.
  • Manage and run our CRM system in conjunction with other teams.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Singapore College of Insurance (Certification in General Insurance), optional
  • Diploma/Degree in related fields

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a PE/Law firm facing role, strongly preferred
  • Experience leading client presentation and pitches
  • Experience and knowledge of the PE market and developments
  • Experience of working in a client facing BD environment
  • Experience of working in a PE/Law firm facing role

  • Contacts across the Private Equity sector, particularly on the investments/transactions side

Prior experience in legal, M&A or corporate fields:

  • Familiar with Asia M&A deals
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
