About The Team

The Business Development and Partnerships teams at Shopee are dynamic and energetic. The teams are always looking to acquire business opportunities to drive Shopee to be the No. 1 e-Commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. The aim of the Business Development and Partnership teams is to provide Shopee’s buyers with a wide variety of product listings at the best prices.

The Retail Relationship Management (RM) team is in charge of driving performance of assigned retail Official Shops and Shopee Supermarket including Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) and profit. Reporting to the Retail RM lead, this role will work closely with other retail sub-teams including the supplier management team, acquisition team and marketing team to drive strategic and tactical initiatives to strive for business growth and profitability.

This role offers great exposure for highly motivated individuals who are looking to work in a fast-paced environment and generate real-time impact on Revenue and Profit and Loss (PnL) while honing their client management and negotiation skills.

Job Description

  • Drive business growth and financial returns of assigned accounts/brands
  • Constructing high-level strategic business plans with brand partners and identifying new sources of growth
  • Developing and maintaining a close relationship with accounts/brands
  • Securing exclusive partnerships for key campaigns
  • Identifying market gaps and managing pricing strategy, product assortment, and the stock availability of brands in the category
  • Negotiate for best front and back margin from suppliers; with good understanding of margins and margin structure
  • Ensure optimal inventory level and minimise slow-moving stocks
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties while meeting deadlines
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Business Management, and 1 - 3 years in business development, account management, merchandising or related field within the e-commerce or retail industry is a plus
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit, with high attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Highly motivated and ability to adapt to changes in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Excellent team player with an aptitude for sales, and a drive to always deliver on KPIs
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills (proficiency with Excel analysis is necessary)
