IT Operations Manager

Job Description & Requirements

The Head of IT Operations will lead the IT Operations team, ensuring the efficient, reliable, and secure operation of all IT systems and infrastructure. This role is critical in supporting the organization's overall business objectives by implementing and maintaining scalable IT solutions, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of managing complex IT environments and leading a team through change and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the IT Operations team, including network, infrastructure, cloud, and service desk teams. Develop and execute an IT operations strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure IT systems support organizational goals.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring system availability, performance, and security.
• Manage the IT service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
• Ensure effective monitoring, maintenance, and support of all IT systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
• Implement and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within IT operations. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend their adoption where appropriate. Lead the implementation of new technologies, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
• Develop and manage the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness. Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring optimal service delivery and value for money. Ensure the efficient allocation of IT resources, including personnel, hardware, and software.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, including data protection and cybersecurity requirements. Work closely with the cybersecurity team to implement and maintain robust security measures across the IT infrastructure.
• Mentor and develop the IT Operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification in ITIL, PMP, or other relevant credentials.
• 10+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, and security.
• Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL.
• Proven track record of managing complex IT environments in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions to operational challenges.
• Experience in budget management and vendor negotiations.
