Job Summary

Run the day-to-day operations of the technology platform (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Unix). Identify potential production issues, create incident tickets, enhancements, and problem tickets in the ticket tracking system, and communicate effectively with development and internal business operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate flexibility, navigate ambiguity, and quickly establish credibility among technical peers.
  • Provide front-line technical support to end users, addressing issues related to Incident/Problem Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, and Application Monitoring.
  • Actively engage and lead production support issues/incidents, taking ownership of escalations and performing troubleshooting, analysis, research, and resolution.
  • Ensure production and performance SLAs are met and escalate issues that require attention.
  • Collaborate closely with Technology Infrastructure Teams and Development Testing Teams to support integrated and independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, and server upgrades.
  • Communicate the overall status and health of applications to all lines of business and management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, identify mitigations/risk, and develop shared/common solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end maintenance responsibility of all production services related to technology, including Problem/Incident Management, Operational Readiness, Capacity/Availability Management, and Production Governance.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement, maintaining metrics to drive enhancements in Production Shared Services.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions for complex issues.
  • Support on-call rotation for off-hours and weekend support as needed.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience in Production Support, ITIL, Release Support, or Technical Implementations.
  • Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, MQ Series, Easytrieve, and Tandem.
  • Experience with Unix Server Administration and Production Support (Unix/SQL).
  • Proficient in Java/J2EE (Core Java, JDBC, EJB, Java Web Services), SOAP/RESTful services, XML/XSLT, and Microservices (MuleSoft).
  • Good knowledge of Middleware components (Message Broker, IBM Websphere MQ, JBoss).
  • Strong operating system knowledge in Unix and Windows, including scripting skills.
  • Experience with Oracle, DB2, and PL/SQL query performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with IMS DB/DC and REXX is a plus.
  • Experience in the banking or financial industry is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
