Foreign Exchange Portfolio Manager (G10 + EM)

Key Responsibilities:

- Portfolio Management: Management of currency portfolios (G10 and EM), ensuring alignment with clients’ risk tolerance, investment objectives, and performance goals.

- Currency Strategy: Develop and implement active and passive currency management strategies, including hedging programs and systematic alpha/carry strategies, to enhance portfolio returns and mitigate currency risks.

- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of global currency markets, economic trends, and geopolitical risks to inform investment decisions. Contribute to overall investment process in an active global multi-asset firm. Present the firm’s currency views eloquently in both internal and external presentations.

- Execution: Develop and maintain relationships with liquidity providers to ensure access to competitive pricing and optimal execution. There is support from dedicated execution personnel, but the Portfolio Manager should be able to handle the function when required.

- Risk Management: Monitor currency exposure and manage risk through various financial instruments, including FX forwards, options, and swaps.

- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional clients, providing regular updates on portfolio performance and market conditions.

- Performance Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze portfolio performance, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve client objectives.

- Compliance: Ensure all currency management activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, client mandates and internal policies.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Around 10-15 years of experience in currency management, foreign exchange trading, or a related field. Appreciate some fundamental background, potentially some experience in research/strategy from the buy/sell-side.

- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in currency-related financial instruments (forwards, options, swaps), Bloomberg, and portfolio management systems. Awareness of market-related regulatory rules and requirements.

- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling (Python ideally) and statistical analysis.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Teamwork: Contribute to a collaborative working environment, interacting well with various parts of the firm including investments, marketing, risk, operations and legal.

Working Conditions:

- Full-time office-based position, with potential for extended hours based on market activity.
