Role Overview: The Group Creative Director will spearhead GREY’s creative vision, of Famously Effective Ideas particularly within our growing government sector portfolio. This role demands a seasoned leader with a passion for groundbreaking creativity, strategic acumen, and the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team of creative professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Leadership: Oversee and guide the creative team in developing innovative and strategically sound campaigns that resonate across various media, including digital, social, print, and experiential.
  • Strategic Vision: Partner with Business Leadership and Strategy to translate creative briefs into compelling concepts and integrated campaigns that align with client objectives and drive business growth.
  • Client Collaboration: Maintain close relationships with clients to understand their business needs, present creative solutions confidently, and ensure high standards of creative execution.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire the creative team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Manage and oversee creative processes from ideation through to execution.
  • Brand Stewardship: Act as a guardian of client brands, ensuring all creative work adheres to brand guidelines and enhances the client’s brand image.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay abreast of the latest trends in advertising and creative fields. Proactively seek opportunities for innovative content and campaigns.
  • Project Oversight: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of high-quality creative outputs. Collaborate with production teams and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry thought leadership by participating in events, writing articles, and engaging in award judging opportunities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: 15+ years in creative direction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within an agency setting. Proven experience managing a large creative department and working with well-known, consumer-facing brands.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional creative work across diverse campaigns and media.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing creative teams. Effective in managing both people and projects with a focus on strategic outcomes.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect business challenges with impactful creative solutions. Strong understanding of client’s business and industry contexts.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and trust in both colleagues and clients.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace Tools, and familiarity with modern production techniques, including AR and AI.
  • Creativity: Passion for creativity with a forward-thinking mindset. Experience in digital-first environments and a strong understanding of modern communication channels.
