Job Summary:

The Vice President Human Resources will leads regional HR functional teams and works directly with and supports the APAC leadership teams, up to and including President level, in developing and executing effective human resources and talent strategies, plans and controls to ensure optimum profitability and achievement of the immediate and longer-term business and HR key performance indicators and regional objectives, whilst minimising associated risks and costs. This position works closely with global and/or international COEs to review, drive and implement complex and high impact HR and talent programs across APAC. Identifies and pursues leverage and improvement opportunities.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for long range planning and setting forward looking Human Resources APAC strategies and goals.
  • Leads the development of Regional HR processes and metrics to ensure optimal organisational service and financial performance.
  • Acts as strategic talent and business partner to advise on immediate and long-term organizational needs.
  • Develops and maintains strategic expert knowledge of relevant Human Resources standards, external requirements and internal/external business environment. Builds HR organisational capabilities to provide expert advice on complex or unique issues, which often includes exploring and implementing new high impact business opportunities and solutions.
  • Leverages functional expertise to drive actions to develop and implement best practice within HR and across the region.
  • Proactively identifies and analyses business issues, opportunities, risks and constraints in accordance with regional strategies and directions. Ensures financial viability of strategic plans, through due diligence and controls.
  • Actively participates as a member of the Regional Leadership Team.
  • Collaborates with and engages all stakeholders, to ensure desired results are realised.
  • Drives large scale and high impact HR initiatives/projects (including business cases, expansion plans, reorganisations, etc.), in order to deliver planned results within time and budget.
  • Defines and implements financial and business objectives and goals across HR. Effectively manages HR budget and takes appropriate actions to control and reduce costs and optimize investments.
  • Builds effective relationships at all levels within and outside of organization in order to achieve optimal business outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • This position requires advanced degree level qualifications or equivalent experience, including substantial leadership experience in regional or global roles.
  • Proven experience leading large HR teams in a multinational and matrix environments.
  • Strong background in strategic planning, talent management, employee relations and organizational development.
  • Experience working within APAC markets is critical, with international exposure being highly desirable.
  • Financial acumen with experience in managing labor budgets and cost control.
