Main Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development Manager to join our pre-opening team for the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree.

This will be an excellent opportunity for HR professionals to shape the culture and set the standards for Human Capital practices for the new Resort. The incumbent will deepen and advance their HR career by being involved in the formulation and setting up of the HR department and HR policies for the new Resort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible in cultivating and embedding Banyan Tree’s culture and ethos in the organization. The incumbent will ensure that our vision, mission, core values (IDEALS), Banyan Tree Roots and brand positioning are key aspects of the Resort’s Employee Value Proposition.
  • Promote and inculcate a culture of continuous learning. As part of this role, the incumbent will conduct regular training needs analysis, and formulate an annual training plan for the Resort.
  • Design and curate various training programs to meet both the Resort’s and individual’s learning and development needs. The L&D Manager will also conduct training and orientation programs, core training programs and other related development programs to strengthen the bench-strength of the organization.
  • The L&D Manager will measure the effectiveness of the training programs. The incumbent will monitor and advise on the effectiveness, produce data and report on performance, measuring them against specified indicators. Based on such analysis, the L&D Manager will propose strategic and tactical interventions where needed.
  • Support Banyan Tree’s Talent Management Programs. This includes recommending outsourcing of training courses and, if and when required, provide suggestions for inviting external resource speakers as part of training programs. The incumbent will also ensure that high potential associates undergo appropriate development programs and activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) will be advantageous
  • Proven track record of 7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the hospitality industry. The candidate should have a proven track record of formulating and developing L&D strategies and programs.
  • Experience in curating training courses, conducting and delivering training programs will be required. This should be complemented with a strong understanding of instructional design frameworks and applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to handle matters independently, and able to exercise self-motivation to complete projects.
