What The Role Is

Project Title: Landscape study of Non-Government Organisations for Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs)

Project Overview: The Partnership Research Intern will develop a comprehensive overview of local and overseas Non-Government Organisations as potential partners for MOM to drive programmes for MDWs that aligns with national level challenges such as ageing population and mental health concerns.

The findings from this study will inform the prioritisation of engagement efforts to enhance community involvement in supporting MDWs.

Furthermore, the intern will also gain an understanding and appreciation of MOM’s legislations and efforts to protect MWs/MDWs through processing straightforward cases referred by NGOs.

What You Will Be Working On
  • Conduct desktop research and landscape study of local and overseas NGOs with an interest or indirectly related to MDWs (i.e., MDWs as extended stakeholders of social services agencies)
  • Identify programmes by NGOs to plug pre-identified service gaps (i.e., caregiving training)
  • Derive benchmarks for programme costs
  • Outline overview of funding models and monitoring and evaluation frameworks of local and overseas NGOs through open source information
  • Process straightforward cases referred by NGOs
