About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team as a Venture Analyst / Associate. This role is crucial in conducting market research, innovation, business development, structuring commercial arrangements, and performing financial modeling to assess the viability of prospective projects. The position offers a unique, greenfield opportunity to develop the organization from inception, working closely with the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research and Analysis:

· Industry Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities. Develop detailed reports and market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities.

· Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate potential investment opportunities by analysing market demand, competitive dynamics, and technological advancements. Provide in-depth analysis and strategic recommendations to the Managing Director.

· Data Interpretation: Collect and interpret complex data sets to identify market patterns and insights. Utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to derive actionable business strategies.

Innovation

· Technology Commercialization: Collaborate with research labs to identify innovative technologies with commercial potential. Develop go-to-market strategies to translate these technologies into viable commercial solutions.

· Product Positioning: Define the unique value proposition for new deep tech solutions and develop marketing strategies to effectively communicate this to target audiences.

· Stakeholder engagement: Engage with external stakeholders to gather feedback and refine product offerings and to better ascertain market demand.

Business Development:

· Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and propose innovative commercial strategies that align with the company's strategic goals. Assess various business models and revenue streams to optimize commercial potential.

· Contract Development and Negotiation: Assist in drafting, negotiating, and finalizing commercial agreements. Ensure contracts are structured to maximize value and comply with legal standards while safeguarding the company's interests.

Financial Modeling and Reporting:

· Advanced Financial Modelling: Create and maintain detailed financial models to assess the economic impact of potential investments and commercial projects. Incorporate various financial metrics and scenarios to support strategic planning.

· Comprehensive Reporting: Prepare in-depth reports and presentations for the Managing Director, summarizing key findings, financial projections, and strategic recommendations. Ensure reports are clear, accurate, and actionable.

Project Viability Assessment

· Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential projects, including technical, financial, and market assessments. Identify key success factors and potential risks associated with each project.

· Risk Analysis and Mitigation: Identify and analyse potential risks related to prospective projects. Develop risk mitigation strategies and provide comprehensive recommendations to senior management.

· Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the performance of ongoing projects. Provide regular updates and insights to the Managing Director, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's and / master’s degree in business, management, or a related field. Engineering background and entrepreneurial experience is a plus.

· Energetic and enthusiastic about the startup and technology landscape. Ability to “speak the language” of founders, partners and stakeholders.

· Demonstrated commercial and business acumen.

· Demonstrated track record of delivery in ambiguous environments.

· Ability to identify and pursue strategic opportunities.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

· Strong individual contributor.

2 to 5 years in related field.
