About Our Client

Our client is a successful, profitable and renowned player in the QSR space. With operations in more than fifty countries and a vast retail presence across several key brands, they have delivered consecutive record years in revenue and profitability. Over the last few decades, they have built and acquired major QSR brands and are looking to widen their brand and market dominance. The Director, Global Brand Design & Experience role will be responsible for increasing brand affinity and innovation for our client's brands. This is a newly created, permanent role.

Job Description

The Director, Global Brand Design & Experience will report to the Vice President, Global Brands and manage a globally distributed team of design leaders who lead initiatives across packaging, store concepts and experiences etc. This is a hands on role that requires you to study customer needs and relay the 'voice of customer' in the future brand strategies. You will also provide guidance to Franchisees and other brands owned by the group.

The measures of success in this role are:

  • Team leadership: hire, coach and lead a global design team across Asia, EMEA and US.
  • Creative: lead the development of store concepts, store designs and establish brand identity in new markets. The focus is to create best-in-class customer experiences end to end.
  • Corporate identity: drive creation of corporate identify materials, including brand guidelines and be the owner of brand trademarks.
  • Campaigns: work with globally recognized design and brand consultancies to strong brand identity systems.
  • Stakeholder management: work with the brand, consumer and network development leaders to deliver groundbreaking design solutions.
  • Cost optimization: use your expert organizational skills to produce on time and within budget.

Peers to this role will be directors for digital marketing, loyalty, analytics etc.

The Successful Applicant

  • Masters or Bachelors' Degree in Design, or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum ten years' experience in a global design role, with at least three years in a highly scaled retail brand.
  • Experience in product and retail design is highly preferred.
  • QSR experience is good to have, though not a must for this search.
  • Strong agency connections and track record of having delivered large scale design projects, a global scale.
  • Solid understanding of design, packaging within the QSR space.
  • Flexibility to travel, up to 30%

This is a new role created to advance our client's global brand expertise. We are looking for someone who has created new retail and wholesale design concepts for large, recognized brands. You will be part of the global brand function that oversees more than fifty markets and fifteen brands. The fixed compensation for this role will be competitive and candidates who have managed global retail brands will find this an excellent fit.
