[What the role is]

The Pollution Control 2 Division (PCD2) is responsible for the formulation and implementation of operational policies to support pollution control requirements. It also regulates the noise level at construction sites and ensures that vehicular emissions are within the permissible limits.

We are looking for highly motivated and independent individuals to carry out enforcement duties. You will be part of the team to perform a wide range of duties centred on the regulation of the construction industry according to the noise guidelines and legislations.

[What you will be working on]

As part of the team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Inspect noise control measures at construction sites to ensure compliance by contractors

  • Investigate and resolve construction noise complaints

  • Carry out compliance checks at construction sites to ensure that contractors manage their construction sites in compliance with the construction noise regulations

  • Execute appropriate enforcement actions against non-compliance

  • Record and report on observations/findings/enforcement actions taken and update status in NEA application (e.g. iCare2, EEMS2, iFOS)

  • Manage the real-time noise monitoring system to ensure proper functioning of noise meters at construction sites and take follow-up action on the meters that are not functioning/removed

  • Work with contractors to implement measures, including engaging residents, to minimise noise dis-amenity and complaints

[What we are looking for]

  • Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/ Environmental Engineering

  • At least 2 years of experience in field inspection, enforcement, or regulatory compliance

  • A good team player who can interact effectively with others, possesses collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Able to handle adverse situations and difficult customers

  • Able to perform shift work and night duties

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
