About the Subtitle Operations Team:
The Subtitle Operations Team manages the entire subtitling process, collaborating with community, contractors, and subtitling agencies. Our dedicated community of volunteers plays a vital role in translating video content, helping us fulfill our mission of bringing Asian content to a global audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee subtitle delivery to align with Viki’s content launch schedule.
Localization Management: Coordinate the delivery of videos and scripts for all localization operations.
Strategy Development: Create and implement effective subtitling strategies.
Issue Resolution: Address subtitle-related issues affecting the viewing experience, such as synchronization problems and display timing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to drive continuous process improvements.
Ad-Hoc Tasks: Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Content & Subtitle Operations team.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in subtitle operations within a TV or streaming platform environment.
Project Management: Proven track record of managing TV and movie subtitling projects from kickoff to final launch, particularly for deadline-driven Asian simulcast content.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of various subtitle formats, with the ability to edit, transform, and sync subtitles using subtitle editing software.
Availability: Willingness to support operations on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
