
Credit Reviewer - Corporate Banking
Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Corporate Credit Reviewer to oversee credit evaluation, risk assessment, and portfolio management activities across large and mid-sized corporates, banks, and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) in ASEAN and India. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining credit quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the overall risk governance framework of the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Review & Approval:
Evaluate and provide comments on credit proposals for corporate, bank, and NBFI clients. Participate in Head Office credit committees or approve cases within delegated authority. - Risk Assessment & Compliance:
Ensure credit assessments are objective, consistent, and compliant with internal credit policies and local regulatory standards, including those set by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Taiwan authorities. - Credit Quality Assurance:
Maintain high standards for credit application quality and align with the bank’s credit risk appetite. - Portfolio Management:
Monitor industry concentration risks and support monthly/quarterly portfolio reporting and analysis. - Regulatory Reporting:
Review and validate semi-annual MAS submissions and ensure accuracy in compliance-related reporting. - Policy & Procedure Oversight:
Review Singapore Branch’s credit-related procedures and coordinate necessary sign-offs with both local management and Head Office. - Legal Coordination:
Liaise with internal and external legal counsel to obtain legal opinions on credit and loan documentation. - Advisory & Support:
Act as a key advisor to Singapore Branch staff on credit matters. Address queries from internal teams, Head Office, auditors, and regulators.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in banking, with at least 3 years in a Corporate Credit Officer role.
- Strong credit evaluation expertise involving complex credit structures, project finance, trade finance, or private equity fund-related exposures.
