About Our Client

Our client is a highly reputable global financial institution with a strong and growing presence across Asia. As part of its finance transformation journey and in response to business expansion, the firm has created a new opportunity for a Head of Financial Control. This is a high-impact role offering strong visibility across the organization, with the chance to shape and strengthen the regional financial control function in support of operational excellence and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidation & Reporting: Lead timely and accurate financial consolidation across regional entities in line with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Financial Control: Oversee general ledger integrity, balance sheet substantiation, and ensure robust financial governance.
  • Tax Management: Manage direct and indirect tax compliance, filings, and coordination with external advisors and authorities.
  • Audit Confirmation: Drive the end-to-end statutory and group audit process, including preparation of financial statements and audit liaison.
  • Process & Controls: Enhance financial control frameworks, streamline processes, and support automation efforts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Group Finance, Risk, Compliance, and senior regional leadership to ensure alignment and transparency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 -15 years of experience in financial control within banking or financial services, preferably in a regional or group-level role.
  • Strong expertise in financial consolidation is essential.
  • Experience in tax compliance, statutory audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Technical proficiency in IFRS and consolidation systems/processes.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, CA, or equivalent.
  • Background in corporate banking or complex financial entity structures is preferred.
