Job Summary:
The Head Bartender is responsible for leading the bar team, overseeing drink preparation, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining bar efficiency. This role requires strong mixology skills, team leadership, and the ability to create a memorable guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:1. Bar Operations & Service Excellence
- Oversee daily bar operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Ensure all drinks adhere to venue standards and recipes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar.
2. Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise and mentor bartenders and barbacks, ensuring high service standards.
- Conduct training sessions on mixology, customer service, and bar operations.
- Manage staff schedules and allocate duties to optimize efficiency.
3. Beverage & Cocktail Development
- Curate and develop seasonal cocktail menus that align with the venue’s theme.
- Experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and presentations to enhance the menu.
- Conduct tasting sessions and get feedback from guests and management.
4. Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate liquor, ingredients, and bar supplies orders.
- Track sales and minimize wastage and over-pouring to control costs.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, purchases, and usage.
5. Customer Engagement & Experience
- Provide an engaging and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Make drink recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Address guest concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently.
6. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all bartenders adhere to alcohol service laws and venue policies.
- Monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service to prevent overconsumption.
- Maintain bar hygiene and cleanliness in line with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bartender / Head Bartender in a high-volume bar or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktails, wines, and spirits.
- Excellent leadership, training, and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using POS systems and inventory management tools.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays.
