Prof. Hyunjin Kim seeks a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher at INSEAD to start in spring / summer 2025. The position is available for one to two years, with a formal review after the first year. The postdoctoral researcher will be provided with a salary and a small personal research budget.
The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Prof. Kim and co-authors on projects that explore how AI impacts firms, entrepreneurship, and strategic decision-making. Please see Prof. Kim’s for recently published and working papers on these topics.
Current projects include:
· Exploring how AI transforms venture creation and scaling through a large-scale field experiment with high-growth startups
· Designing and experimentally evaluating a generative AI strategy assistant to support strategic decision-making for millions of small and medium enterprises across Southeast Asia
· Studying how firms learn to improve decisions through data-driven feedback loops
The ideal candidate for this Postdoctoral Researcher will be a recent PhD graduate with a deep interest in this domain who can provide research support involving programming, data analysis, and coordination / project management with corporate partners and other research support. The role involves a proportion of time dedicated to publishing the candidate’s own ongoing research projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Applicants must have completed a PhD in economics, business, computer science, or related quantitative field before the beginning the fellowship. Prior work must involve working with large datasets, facility with analytics and programming, and, ideally, designing experiments.
· Strong programming skills required (ideally in Python, Stata, and R).
· Excellent work ethic, organizational skills, and oral/written communication required.
