Position Purpose:

As a Fuel Oil Broker, they will act as a front-line commercial point of contact for our global trading clients — including refiners, shipowners, bunker suppliers, physical traders, and hedge funds. Sourcing, negotiating, and executing derivatives transactions (HSFO, VLSFO, LSFO) in global hubs such as Singapore, Rotterdam, and Fujairah.

Play a crucial role in maintaining liquidity, identifying arbitrage opportunities, and delivering price transparency to clients — all while building trusted relationships across the marketplace.

Primary duties will include:

  • Client Relationship & Deal Execution
  • Serve as the primary broker contact for executing fuel oil trades
  • Build and maintain a network of active clients: bunker buyers, refiners, and traders
  • Provide live pricing for fuel oil products (HSFO 3.5%, VLSFO 0.5%, LSFO 1%)
  • Actively negotiate futures deals with both buyers and sellers
  • Execute trades via voice (Cloud 9), WhatsApp, ICE chat, and potentially Bloomberg
  • Confirm and recap trades in real-time, ensuring both sides align on commercial terms

Market Intelligence & Price Discovery:

  • Monitor global benchmarks (Platts, Argus, ICE, CME) and provide daily market updates
  • Participate in the Platts Market-on-Close (MOC) process and relay key flows to clients
  • Track global arbitrage flows, refinery outages, inventory data, and freight rates
  • Share insights on crack spreads, Hi/Lo spreads, and calendar spreads

Hedging & Risk Management Support:

  • Assist clients in TAPS-linked strategies using MF4, BAR, SYS (Ice Exchange Products)
  • Execute swaps and futures trades tied to Platts, Argus, or fixed-price indexes
  • Help clients manage exposure across physical cargoes and ICE futures
  • Understand key instruments: MF4 (VLSFO), BAR (3.5% barges), SYS (Sing 380 CST)
  • Accurately pricing and brokering 10k–100k MT deals weekly

Commercial Growth & Origination:

  • Identify and onboard new counterparties, both physical and financial
  • Generate new flow by introducing structured products and inter-product spreads
  • Work with internal compliance to onboard KYC/AML documentation for counterparties
