What The Role Is
The incumbent will support the Senior Manager in overseeing the Facilities Management (FM) functions to ensure smooth daily operations at the Department of Student Development & Alumni Affairs (SDAA) premises. The role also involves providing technical and service support for SDAA and TP programmes and events. What You Will Be Working On
The incumbent will support the Senior Manager in overseeing the Facilities Management (FM) functions to ensure smooth daily operations at the Department of Student Development & Alumni Affairs (SDAA) premises. The role also involves providing technical and service support for SDAA and TP programmes and events. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing safety regulations and protocols for Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) at Temasek Polytechnic, with a focus on risk assessment, facilities development, and ensuring compliance with safety measures.
What You Will Be Working On
- Coordinate facilities enhancement and upgrading projects.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with vendors/contractors and relevant departments to timely and satisfactory completion of maintenance, rectification and alterations work.
- Provide administrative, technical, manpower and logistics support for physical education classes, CCA and student related programmes and events, including technical support of activities at specialised facilities sports/exercise labs/gym, music and arts studios and Black-Box theatre. These events may be held in the evenings or weekends.
- Coordinate the Duty Officer (DO) roster to support student group advisors to oversee the safe and proper conduct of training/practice activities.
- Establish and maintain service quality, safety and security standards to ensure the well-being of all students, staff and visitors.
- Ensure the safety of CCA activities in TP by developing & maintaining CCA SOPs, policies, guidelines and risk assessment (RA) documents.
- Coordinate the TWSH Working Group and Emergency Response Team functions for SDAA, including emergency responses, epidemic/pandemic responses and overall safe management protocols.
- Work with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Department to collate TP-wide student injuries from non-curriculum related activities for reporting and trending purposes.
- Tertiary/professional qualifications in Facilities Management or related discipline, with minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in facilities management, operations, safety management, facilities development or a related field.
- Strong expertise in risk assessment and safety protocol development, with proven ability to design and implement safety measures for diverse activities, e.g. CCA.
- Experience in coordinating facility development projects from planning through to execution, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience in government procurement and contract administration, including drafting facilities-related tender documents will be an added advantage.
- Good contract management skills, including vendor liaison and performance monitoring.
- Strong team and project management skills.
- Good communication (both written and spoken), analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings as required, to support CCA activities, facility checks, and project timelines.
