Duties & Responsibilities
Guest Experience and Consultation
- Provide a warm, professional welcome and ensure personalised and attentive when providing high standards of spa and wellness therapies.
- Providing trained treatment protocols with precision, hygiene practices and attention of details in ensuring high standards of customer care.
- Conduct pre-treatment consultations to understand guest needs, preferences, and any medical concerns.
- Recommend suitable treatments and products based on guest wellness goals.
- Offer post-treatment advice on skincare, relaxation techniques, and wellness routines.
- Knowledgeable in treatment protocols, retail skills and aim for rebooking, spa guests’ retention rates and memberships.
Hygiene and Safety Compliance
- Maintain the highest hygiene standards for spa rooms, treatment beds, and equipment.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including disinfecting tools and linens.
- Adhere to Sama Wellness brand standards in accordance to industry best practices.
Product Knowledge and Upselling
- Have in-depth technical knowledge of skincare, benefit on massage oils, and wellness products.
- Recommend spa retail products if any for home care wellness routine
- Upsell and cross sell spa and wellness experiences, membership programs, wellness activities, events and packages in a professional manner.
Team Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with the Director of Wellness, Wellness Supervisor, Wellness Concierge, Wellness therapists and other departments to ensure seamless spa and wellness journeys.
- Assist in training new Wellness therapists and sharing best practices.
- Stay updated on new spa trends, wellness therapies, and skincare innovations.
Operational
- To provide all guests with a wellness consultation form and ensure all required details are filled, ask questions if more information is needed, especially existing medical conditions. Seek wellness management’ assistance when in doubt.
- Ensure the working area is cleaned and look and feel hygienic in a neat manner.
- Assist in making Wellness bookings and checking and verifying guest bookings by repeating the information with guests.
- To contact guests to re-confirm bookings one day prior.
- To check and assist with setting up the daily operations of the Wellness Area.
- To ensure the music at the Wellness area and treatment rooms are operating properly.
- To provide service promptly, courteously and accurately.
- To request and collect stock and supplies in accordance with divisions’ stock levels.
- To study and evaluate operations and procedures and suggest improvements to the Wellness Management.
- To ensure cleanliness and hygiene at the Wellness area
- To ensure retail is offered appropriately to the guests.
- To participate in the inventory of the Spa and ensure it is well maintained.
- To ensure all equipment is well maintained and in safe condition.
- To handle guest complaints and record all guest comments during treatment, inform wellness management.
- To prepare guest invoices and present to them before or after Wellness, Gym and membership offerings.
- To prepare and serve Wellness refreshments and water. To ensure infused water in Wellness and Gym floors are filled with sufficient servings glasses or/mugs during operating hours.
- To prepare cold and warm towels in the pantry and reception fridge.
- To ensure all required information is obtained on Wellness and Gyms’ activities appointment schedules for the following day.
- To answer the telephone within three rings. If unable to attend to guests, to call guests back immediately after attending the previous guests.
- To be responsible for escorting first-time guests to and from the Wellness and Gym areas or as otherwise required.
Training & Development
- To attend training as required by The Initial Sama and Sama Wellness.
Administration
- To record daily requisitions in the balance or record book.
- To prepare end of the day daily revenue reports and other reports required by the Wellness Management.
- To create guest profiles and ensure they are not duplicated in the Wellness software system
- To ensure the guest profiles are entered with correct information (names, contact number, e-mail address) in the Wellness software system
- To assign and distribute equally the wellness /spa booking throughout the day ensuring the therapist commission is equally distributed among them.
- To report lost and found items and inform Wellness Management within one hour. Details to obtained: Date/Time of item was lost/found, the person/guest who found/lost it and location of the item was found/lost.
General
- To always establish attentive guest relations and rapport with all wellness colleagues and guests.
- To report any breakage or malfunction of any item or/and equipment at the Wellness and Gym floors and record in the daily operations report, follow up on the repair and maintenance, update accordingly. Inform Wellness management immediately.
- To provide high standards of cleanliness and hygiene practice in the Wellness and Gym area.
- To report for duty punctually, frequent tardiness will result in disciplinary actions.
- To always be well-groomed and professional, presentable during duty hours.
- To participate in safety and other training required by The Initial Sama
- To always keep a professional working manner.
- To show enthusiasm and motivation at all times.
- To have a complete understanding of and adhere to The Initial Sama rules and regulations.
- To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Wellness policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety, to attend training if required.
- To assist other team members when required to complete the tasks assigned.
- To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Qualifications· Certification on either on the followings recognized by The Singapore Police Force and Singapore massage establishment license unit such as CIDESCO Body Therapy Diploma *or* CIBTAC Level 3 Diploma in Spa Therapy *or* ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage *or* other qualifications awarded by the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC) and the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC)
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role in a hotel spa, upscale environment would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in English (written & spoken)
- Second language preferred
- Knowledge in latest wellness trends would be an advantage
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
- Professional written skills in composing text messages or/and email communications
