DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain pristine spa treatment rooms, yoga studio, gym, co-living and co-working area bathhouse, locker, shower areas, yoga pavilion, pantry and pool deck.
- Ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness in all wellness areas including pantry, wellness bathrooms, yoga and movement studio, gym, outdoor yoga pavilion, bathhouse, locker areas and shower areas, pool
- Sanitize and organize yoga mats, blocks, and props after each session.
- Restock gym supplies (towels, water, sanitizing wipes) and ensure all equipment is tidy.
- Monitor and maintain water quality in pools, hot tubs, and cold plunge baths.
Stocking & Inventory Management
- Replenish spa linens, towels, skincare products, yoga props, and fitness equipment.
- Prepare, set up and replenish with fresh linens, towels and wellness essentials when required.
- Ensure poolside amenities (towels, sunscreen, water bottles) are available
Health & Safety Compliance
- Follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols for spa and wellness spaces.
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and wellness rules and regulations
- Monitor pool safety, ensuring guests follow wellness retreat guidelines.
- Maintain a safe environment in yoga and fitness areas, preventing hazards.
- Assist in emergency situations, such as slips, overheating in saunas, or medical concerns.
Team Coordination & Support
- Work closely with spa therapists, yoga instructors, personal trainers, and housekeeping teams.
- Communicate guest preferences, requests, or issues to the appropriate team members.
- Assist in setting up yoga sessions, meditation classes, and fitness recovery activities
Operational
- To operate and work in accordance with standards prescribed on standard operations procedures and best practices.
- Clean and maintain cleanliness and highest level of hygiene in all Wellness areas including pantry, wellness relaxation room, bathhouse, pool, yoga pavilion, movement studio, gym locker and shower areas, wellness bathrooms.
- Welcome guests to Sama Wellness areas as well as multi-activities rooms, gym and pool. Provide an orientation when guests using wellness facilities such as bathhouse, gym and pool.
- To serve the guest the welcome drink and cold scented towel
- To ensure that all Sama Wellness areas are clean at all the time. Including Reception Area, Wellness entrance, locker and changing rooms, Gym, movement and yoga studios, pantry, bath house, outdoor Yoga pavilion and pool.
- To ensure that stocks of refreshments are full at all times.
- To ensure that the supply of clean linen is enough for guests’ use and collect dirty linen from the relevant areas.
- When required, to assist in setting up, maintaining and dismantling equipment according to the schedule of activities in Yoga and movement studios, outdoor Yoga pavilion and pool area.
- To drop and pick up guest whenever require
- To report and record any maintenance issues to Wellness Supervisor and ensure to follow up
- Assist guests with robes, slippers, towels, locker keys, and storage.
- Guide guests through the wellness areas including spa, gym, yoga studio, bathhouse, and pool areas.
- Provide information on spa treatments, fitness classes, yoga sessions, and wellness services.
- Offer refreshments such as herbal teas, infused water, and post-workout recovery drinks.
- To check and assist with setting up the daily operations of the Wellness Area.
- To ensure the music at the Wellness and Gym Area are operating properly.
- To provide service promptly, courteously and accurately.
- To request and collect stock and supplies in accordance with divisions’ stock levels.
- To ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the Wellness and Gym areas
- Participate in the inventory of the Spa and ensure it is well maintained.
- Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in safe condition.
- To handle guest complaints and record all guest comments, inform wellness management.
- To prepare guest invoices and present to them before or after Wellness and Gym offerings.
- To prepare and serve Wellness refreshments and water. To ensure infused water in Wellness and Gym floors are filled with sufficient servings glasses or/mugs during operating hours.
- To prepare cold and warm towels in the pantry and reception fridge.
- To ensure all required information is obtained on Wellness and Gyms’ activities appointment schedules for the following day.
- To answer the telephone within three rings. If unable to attend to guests, to call guests back immediately after attending the previous guests.
- To be responsible for escorting first-time guests to and from the Wellness and Gym areas or as otherwise required.
- To study and evaluate operations and procedures and suggest improvements to the Wellness Management.
Training & Development
- To attend training as required by The Initial Sama and Sama Wellness.
Administration
- To record daily requisitions in the balance or record book.
- To prepare end of the day daily revenue reports and other reports required by the Wellness Management.
- To create guest profiles and ensure they are not duplicated in the Wellness software system
- To ensure the guest profiles are entered with correct information (names, contact number, e-mail address) in the Wellness software system
- To assign and distribute equally the wellness /spa booking throughout the day ensuring the therapist commission is equally distributed among them.
- To report lost and found items and inform Wellness Management within one hour. Details to obtained: Date/Time of item was lost/found, the person/guest who found/lost it and location of the item was found/lost.
General
- To always establish attentive guest relations and rapport with all wellness colleagues and guests.
- To report any breakage or malfunction of any item or/and equipment at the Wellness and Gym floors and record in the daily operations report, follow up on the repair and maintenance, update accordingly. Inform Wellness management immediately.
- To provide high standards of cleanliness and hygiene practice in the Wellness and Gym area.
- To participate in safety and other training required by The Initial Sama
- To have a complete understanding of and adhere to The Initial Sama rules and regulations.
- To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Wellness policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety, to attend training if required.
- To assist other team members when required to complete the tasks assigned.
- Maintain a high standard of appearance, grooming and personal hygiene set by the Director of Wellness.
- Adhere to training as set down by the Director of Wellness and attend all training courses as deemed necessary.
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor at all times, particularly with regard to punctuality, appearance and general manner.
- Work a flexible rota, including evening, early, weekend and public holiday shifts.

Job Requirements
- Qualifications Minimum PSLE and above
- Minimum 1 year in a similar role in a hotel spa, luxury environment would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in English (written & spoken)
- Second language preferred.
- Qualification and Experience in wellness and fitness education would be a plus.
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Professional written skills in composing text messages or/and email communications
