Project Management Office (PMO) is to establish and maintain project governance and management standards, and processes, and exercise best practices, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently with optimal utilization of resources and projects help business achieve organization’s strategic objectives.

Responsible for planning, executing and successfully completing IT projects in Mizuho Bank, Singapore Branch (“MHBKSG”) within the allocated timeline and budget with strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage complex projects. Partners with intragroup and 3rd-party providers for project initiation and delivery to achieve organization’s strategic objectives.

Project Planning & Execution

  • Identify business needs, develop and define project goals, scope and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
  • Create comprehensive project plans for complex projects and lead to project members to ensure project milestones are met and quality standards are upheld.
  • Monitor project progress, and identify and proactively manage project risks throughout project life cycle.
  • Manage budgeting and ensure projects are completed within approved budget.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation to analyze benefit realization.


Strategic Planning

  • Forecast the resource demand for pipeline projects, develop project roadmap and plan and maintain project portfolio.
  • Oversee a group of related projects that are aligned with a specific program or objective, and focus on managing interdependencies among projects resolving conflicts and ensuring achievement.
  • Develop and drive optimization to improve team’s capability and leverage strength in team.
  • Challenge the status quo and perform to a high standard in changing the environments.

Relationships & Communication

  • Partner, manage dispute, cultivate both collaboration and respect across the stakeholders for project delivery to achieve the business goal.
  • Manage project life cycle and status reports to all stakeholders.
  • Provide timely management reporting on measurable items with milestones and deliverables and updates all material issues.
  • Manage relationships with intragroup and 3rd-party providers.
  • Understand and manage emotions in managing teams and dealing with stakeholders.

Job Requirements :

  • At least 10 years of relevant working experiences
  • Project management experience of system implementation with more than 500,000SGD total investment cost or more than 50 man-month.
  • Application development or IT infrastructure development experience
  • Lead teams to deliver medium/large scale IT projects
  • Strong leadership, time management and organization skill
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborate across organization and with external providers to solve complex problems creatively.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and deadlines
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
  • Japanese proficiency preferred to communicate with stakeholders based in Head Office (Tokyo)
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English.
