Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to ensure they are accurate, complete, and conform to reporting and procedural standards.
- Maintain full sets of accounts accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) vendor to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger functions.
- Review all accounts, sub-ledgers, and reports to ensure they comply with accounting standards, principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation. Validate the accuracy and completeness of accounting postings for the relevant closing period, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain proper cash flow records and develop cash flow projections.
- Assist in preparing tax schedules and documentation for corporate tax and GST submissions (for RemainCo), and liaise with the tax agent as needed.
- Calculate taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
- Coordinate all necessary information for statutory reporting, such as quarterly GST submissions.
- Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to the correct accounts.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Liaise with banks for banking transactions.
- Collaborate with auditors and tax agents, supporting year-end statutory audits and tax filings/queries.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Diploma / ACCA / Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
Key Skills / Core Competencies:
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, with in-depth knowledge of MS Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and correct application in accounting records.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with exposure to a wide range of finance/accounting responsibilities.
