At One World International School (OWIS), we are looking for passionate, adaptable educators who enjoy teaching students from diverse cultures. All teaching positions require a high proficiency in spoken and written English, a degree, teaching qualifications and ICT literacy.
Overall Responsibilities:
To teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by the school’s curricular programmes - IB PYP, IGCSE and IB Diploma.
To teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his/her care by the Head of School.
To promote the attributes and attitude of the IB Learner Profile and the school values.
Includes the below but not limited to -
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in planning the delivery of the curriculum.
- Organise the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive and valued learning environment.
- Prepare and present lessons that differentiate for and cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
- Motivate students with enthusiastic and imaginative presentation and well planned learning engagements.
- Maintain discipline through use of positive reinforcement.Keep up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
- Source external learning experiences (educational visits, professional visitors) to enhance students learning.
- Lead or be involved in extra-curricular activities, school events, assemblies, staff trainings, meetings, etc.
- Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of all students.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years or more relevant full-time teaching experience as a qualified teacher with prior experience of teaching Early Childhood.
- Candidate must at least possess Bachelor's degree in Education and a Professional Degree in Teaching/Teaching qualification certificates (PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma)/Valid Teacher License/QTS.Must have strong knowledge and experience of teaching IB PYP curriculum.
- Experience in an international school environment (preferred).A passionate educator with the ability to deliver student-centred, inquiry based learning.
