The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. The key outcome of the research will be the early identification of new pathogens, out of which new diagnostic tests, treatments and control strategies will be developed.
The selected candidate will participate in the development of mRNA vaccines against dengue virus. The main goal of this project is to establish a novel mRNA vaccine that is universally effective against all 4 dengue serotypes. The candidate will perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organising and conducting research studies within the overall scope of a research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate, including but not limited to the following: -

The selected candidate will participate in the development of mRNA vaccines against dengue virus. The main goal of this project is to establish a novel mRNA vaccine that is universally effective against all 4 dengue serotypes. The candidate will perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organising and conducting research studies within the overall scope of a research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate, including but not limited to the following: -
- Plan and perform experiments such as cell culture, mRNA vaccine construction, animal work, etc.
- Perform basic laboratory preparations, ordering and managing of laboratory consumables.
- Perform basic computer skills, data collection and manipulation.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences / Life sciences, or a related discipline with 1 to 2 years of academic laboratory experience.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge, skills and technical expertise in supporting various biological research activities.
- Equipped with basic routine laboratory skills, including biological safety.
- Prior experience in infectious disease pathology or vaccine development would be advantageous.
- A strong team player who is open-minded, energetic, highly motivated and can work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and diverse workforce.
