
Production Assistant Manager
As an Assistant Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor, with a strong focus on food safety, efficiency, and process improvement. You'll play a key role in supporting sustainable growth, quality assurance, and the execution of production strategies in a cold-chain environment.
Job Description:
1. Process Management & Strategy:
- Manage and oversee food production workflows to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
- Establish and implement food production strategies to drive sustainable growth.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for food production processes.
- Lead production processes to align with budget, schedules, and quality standards.
2. Resource & Inventory Management:
- Manage manpower, equipment, raw materials, and ingredients to meet production objectives.
- Oversee the stock and purchasing of production consumables and packaging materials.
- Ensure accurate and timely stock reporting to the finance department.
3. Quality Control & Compliance:
- Maintain high hygiene and safety standards in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support all aspects of product quality and food safety processes.
- Coordinate plant visits and physical inspections by external auditors.
- Investigate production and quality issues, implementing corrective measures.
- Establish and maintain production documentation and maintenance records.
4. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve production yield and efficiency.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Investigate low-yield batches and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Analyze production performance reports and recommend improvements.
5. Innovation & Project Management:
- Operationalize new and customized product manufacturing processes.
- Improve operation planning through big data analytics and advanced modeling.
- Draft capacity plans to evaluate the sustainability of new or modified processes.
- Implement test programs to resolve hardware and major setup issues in mass production.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.
6. Other Duties:
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Serve as a backup to the designated buddy when necessary
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science Technology or related discipline.
- Experience in frozen food or seafood manufacturing preferred.
- Comfortable working both in a cold production environment and in the office.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and record-keeping tasks.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Able to multitask, work independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Verbal and written communication skills in both English & Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin/English-speaking suppliers/stakeholders/production staff.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety standards, and inventory management systems is a plus.
