Job Description:

The Supplier Development Lead – Asia is responsible for managing the global relationship with assigned supplies (local and global) for Asia centers, in accordance with the Category Management Strategy. The Supplier Development Lead – Asia serves as key contact for the assigned suppliers.

Relationships: Reports to Planning & Supply Chain Manager Surface.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead regular management reviews, strategic positioning evaluation, three-year business perspectives, and strategic product and market developments.
  • Consolidate internal demand provided by the centers and arbitrate issues.
  • Manage negotiations in accordance with group interests.
  • Select target tools and products, and conduct total cost of integration analysis, including price, lead time and quality costs.
  • Lead supplier risk assessments and ensure regular updates.
  • Communicate the supplier strategy and key events in the supplier relationship to the Category, Sourcing and Supplier Quality teams, and Center Supply Chain Managers.
  • Participate in internal and supplier audits.
  • Implement actions to continuously reduce wasted time, money and resources.
  • Comply with Schlumberger and local procedures applicable to the job function.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Quality and Welding departments to ensure newly selected supplier can comply with the technical requirements set by SLB
  • Own the milestones in supplier development and report out progress to SFP management team on regular basis

Previous Experience and Competencies required:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • Ideally has a minimum of 8-10 years working experience, with 5 years experience with supplier qualification and supplier risk management.
  • Familiar with oilfield, engaging and managing suppliers in oilfield related activities.
  • Familiar with a range of computer-based services and the ability to use those services to gain information.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholders management skills; ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders.

Current competencies to have:

  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English to manage various suppliers.
  • Flexible timing (working across multiple time zones) if required
