THE ROLE:

The HR Manager, Business Partner is an individual contributor role that offers a blend of strategic and hands-on responsibilities. While the role involves partnering with senior stakeholders to drive talent strategies—such as talent identification, development programs, and succession planning—it also requires someone who is comfortable and willing to handle ground-level execution. This includes overseeing HR projects, systems, and analytics, as well as performing operational tasks such as applying for work passes, coordinating logistics, and managing documentation. The ideal candidate must be highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and unafraid to get their hands dirty in order to deliver both strategic and day-to-day HR support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

  • Develop and execute effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top IT talent across the region, in alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand technical requirements, define job scopes, and craft accurate job descriptions for IT and tech-related roles.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer negotiation.
  • Continuously review and improve recruitment processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes.
  • Prepare employment contracts and offer letters, coordinate background checks, and handle work pass applications in compliance with local regulations.
  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding of interns, and coordinate the scholar selection process, ensuring a smooth and professional candidate experience.
  • Use recruitment data and analytics to drive continuous improvement in hiring effectiveness, pipeline quality, and time-to-fill.
  • Oversee onboarding programs and ensure consistent delivery of employee orientation sessions to help new hires integrate smoothly.

Employee Engagement, Performance Management & HR Operations

  • Champion and co-organize HR engagement activities and events to foster a positive work culture and enhance employee morale.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide data-driven insights to support employee retention strategies.
  • Support performance management processes, including objective setting, performance reviews, and calibration sessions.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance conversations and employee development planning.
  • Manage key HR operational tasks across the employee life cycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee orientation, contract administration, and maintaining employee records.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of HR documentation while maintaining compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Act as a point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, ensuring consistent, hands-on support to employees and leaders.

Cross-Border Collaboration & Projects

  • Support and contribute to cross-border HR initiatives and projects as needed, working closely with regional HR counterparts.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of HR practices across markets, while adapting to local legal and cultural contexts.
  • Participate in the implementation of regional HR programs, tools, or systems.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience in HR, including 5 years in a business partner role with demonstrated emphasis on utilising data analytics for strategic decision-making
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions, covering compensation & benefits, employee relations and engagement, performance management, talent management, executive / tech training, internship, and scholarship management.
  • Understanding of relevant labour policies, employment laws, and legislation.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and HR/TM systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Capacity to think innovatively and outside conventional boundaries.
  • Proven track record of effective independent and collaborative work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Possesses high standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, adept at multitasking and prioritisation.
