The Supply Chain Analyst - Shipping will be a key member of the Singapore Finance team and business partner to the Head of Global Shipping. This role will focus on providing the business and finance peers within the regions a clear and accurate view on shipping costs within the business.
This includes partnering on tender processes, analysing shipping operations, optimizing supply chain performance, and ensuring cost efficiency. The successful candidate will provide actionable insights, support decision-making, and contribute to the company’s overall financial and operational success

The Supply Chain Analyst - Shipping will be a key member of the Singapore Finance team and business partner to the Head of Global Shipping. This role will focus on providing the business and finance peers within the regions a clear and accurate view on shipping costs within the business.
This includes partnering on tender processes, analysing shipping operations, optimizing supply chain performance, and ensuring cost efficiency. The successful candidate will provide actionable insights, support decision-making, and contribute to the company’s overall financial and operational success
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Work closely with the Global Shipping Manager and their team to help shape tender objectives at the outset and align them with Management
- Analyse bids through the process, ensuring all expenses are accounted for and the impacts on financials are clearly understood and align with overall strategy and objectives
- Post agreement, lead the communication to regional teams (GM & CFOs) ensuring impacts to their businesses are clearly understood
- Monitor and analyse shipping costs and freight rates to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities. Partner and support the Global Shipping team to develop strategies to optimize shipping routes and schedules to reduce costs and improve delivery timelines/service.
- Partner the team to advance the tracking and reporting on key shipping metrics, including transit times, carrier performance, and shipment accuracy.
- Own the planning cycle forecasts (Budget and Forecasts) for shipping operations, including aligning on key planning assumptions with the cross-functional team and ensure driver-based insights and analysis around change and movements into regional teams for inclusion in their plans.
- Monitor risks associated with shipping, such as delays, cost fluctuations, and geopolitical factors and ensure there is robust view of R&Os and action plans needed to achieve at all times
- Monitor and analyse shipping costs and freight rates (actuals vs plan) and produce driver-based insights on variances and commentary.
- A bachelor’s in Finance with certified accounting qualification preferable
- Analytical experience within shipping
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong continuous improvement mindset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Results-driven, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Experience with SAP or other Tier 1 ERP software.
- Experience with shipping and logistics management systems (desirable)
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data modelling and advanced Excel techniques.
- Knowledge of international shipping practices, including Incoterms, customs regulations, and freight market trends.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and provide actionable insights.
