Network Engineer (Cloud)

We are working with an established organisation to look for a Cloud Network Engineer to support the operations and management of our cloud-based network infrastructure.

You’ll be working in an operations-heavy environment, maintaining critical networking components that underpin our cloud platforms. The role focuses on cloud networking and backbone infrastructure — a niche and highly valuable area that’s not commonly taught, but essential to large-scale systems. A willingness to learn is more important than prior experience.

You’ll join the Infra Ops team, which focuses on platform stability and cloud infrastructure health. This position complements the more delivery-oriented teams

Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain the network infrastructure in a cloud environment.
• Assist in managing backbone operations across hybrid and private cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
• Perform network troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Support change management, documentation, and operational handovers.
• Learn and apply cloud networking best practices in real-world environments.

Requirements:

• A strong interest in networking and cloud technologies.
• Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnets).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, curious, and growth-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to dive into operations and backbone systems, not just delivery.

Nice to Have (Optional but Helpful)

• Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Exposure to enterprise networking or lab projects.
• Any cloud or networking certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, CCNA).
• Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash) or interest in automation tools.
