The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), a Graduate School of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is a leading research and teaching institution in strategic and international affairs and policy-oriented think-tank in the Asia-Pacific region.

RSIS is seeking suitable candidates for the position of Associate Research Fellow/Research Fellow with the Military Transformations Programme.

The Military Transformations Programme (MTP) focuses on emerging military technology and innovation issues and their impact on strategic stability, regional military balances, and long-term military-strategic competition. A key area of research is military Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it relates to responsible governance, arms control and disarmament, international law, and norms. MTP also examines the implications of emerging military technologies in contested domains – outer space, underwater, cyber – and how selected countries, militaries, tech companies, and international organisations are implementing an operationalising military innovation, and why.

As a part of MTP, applicants can expect to contribute to the School’s multidisciplinary research agenda, team research and policy-oriented projects, and organise conferences and seminars.

A relevant Master’s degree with a good publication record are essential requirements.

All applicants should submit the following:

  • A detailed curriculum vitae;
  • 2 published articles or writing samples; and
