Business Development & Client Coverage Analyst

Business Development & Client Coverage has primary responsibility for growing the firm’s revenue by building, nurturing and maintaining client relationships. The team leads the sales and marketing initiatives during the business origination phase, provides best in market service to clients across our total value proposition.

This Analyst role is a great opportunity to work for a leading independent financial services firm focusing on the alternative investment space. The role encompasses working alongside the senior members of the BDCC team on origination, structuring and deal execution.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting Client Engagement Managers with lead origination, business development and client coverage.
• Assisting pitch processes, including marketing decks, for prospective and existing clients.
• Market research to identify new financial market risk advisory and execution, and fund finance opportunities.
• Supporting our work with clients to analyse, design and implement hedging strategies across various markets and asset classes (FX, Rates, Commodities, Equities).
• Analysing client information and preparing periodic performance reports.
• Supporting in the pricing and execution of FX and Interest Rate hedging for our clients via our various execution channels.
• Attending client, industry and networking evens, leveraging the existing Validus relationships and your personal network to drive business development efforts for new and existing clients.
• Leading and delivering high quality internal business reporting.
• Remaining abreast of market developments.

Requirements

Skills required:

• 1-3 years professional experience within financial services is required.
• Knowledge of risk in financial markets. Previous experience in the FX and/or Interest Rate market is ideal, however candidates with experience in investment banking, fund finance and alternative investment funds will also be considered.
• Knowledge of Alternative Investment Funds.
• Excellent time and project management skills, ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Strong numerical skills with an analytical mindset and great attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, previous exposure to Bloomberg.

In addition, any of the following would be a plus:

• Proficiency in written and verbal presentation skills in an Asian language.
• Track record in business development.

Qualifications:

• Relevant undergraduate degree (e.g. Finance, Economics, Engineering, Math, Statistics).
• Post-graduate qualifications (e.g. MBA, CFA, Masters in Finance) is a plus.
