Job Purpose
To maintain and operate the HVAC system in a compliant, reliable, and cost-effective manner, while supporting any required site changes to meet client and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with site SOPs, EHS procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Lead a team of technicians in performing preventive and corrective HVAC maintenance activities.
- Plan and coordinate HVAC work with IFM planners and internal plant stakeholders.
- Manage HVAC-related contractors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.
- Investigate HVAC-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Interpret HVAC P&ID drawings and troubleshoot system issues.
- Monitor temperature and humidity trends in warehouses and related areas; respond promptly to deviations.
- Operate and adjust HVAC systems using the Building Management System (BMS).
- Act as the main liaison for contractors, ensuring adherence to site contractor management procedures.
- Notify regulatory bodies (e.g., NEA) regarding cooling tower disinfection/shutdown, and ensure water sampling remains within limits.
- Provide daily activity summaries to stakeholders and the plant manager.
- Execute small-scale HVAC projects and manage Engineering Change Control documentation.
- Ensure timely closure of work orders in SAP CMMS.
- Participate in Tier meetings and own operations from end to end for both preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Serve as the primary contact for all HVAC-related activities within the plant.
Systems Covered (Not Limited To):
- Chilled and cooling water systems
- Cooling towers
- HVAC pumps
- Absorption and electric chillers (-20C to +5C)
- Cold room refrigeration units
- AHUs, FCUs, dehumidifiers
- Split units and other related systems
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on HVAC experience in a GMP-regulated plant environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP CMMS.
- Strong coordination, planning, and team leadership skills.
- Familiar with GMP compliance, HVAC systems, and safety protocols.
