About us
One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we’re on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.
What You'll Do
As a Technical Trainer you will be required to communicate with people; present, deliver and provide solutions in a systems environment, conveying your technical skills across an audience, and thrive whilst delivering your expertise.
In this role you will represent Viasat with our installation partners to deliver the training to enable them to be successful with the installation of our products. This will include the training of installation partners on product knowledge such that they can understand issues that may occur during installation and also the procedures they will need to follow during this process. Additionally, you will train our internal Customer Support and Technical Support teams on our networks, products and services.
The role will require you to assist with the build of new training content as the products are enhanced and new functionality is added. Being based in Singapore will allow you to closely interact with the Support, Project and Production teams and to take that knowledge to build the training curriculum necessary for our installation partners and support teams.
The day-to-day
You will be responsible for installation training to different audiences such as installation partners and also at times, our Value Added Manufacturers (VAMs). Additionally you will offer internal training to Inmarsat employees when learning needs are identified. This role is primarily focused on the Maritime business within Viasat but there could at times also be requirements for other business areas. The trainer will help design and develop training programmes based on both Viasat and the individual's needs, providing an evaluation and recommendations at the end of all training programmes.
Face to face training will be delivered in either Viasat offices globally or at the partner’s premises and so this role will require some travel globally. You will also work with the Training Academy eLearning team to help provide a blended training approach and complete end to end solution. Many courses may be delivered as eLearning only where this is deemed the most appropriate delivery mechanism.
You will be contributing to and updating courses on Products and Viasat Value-added services and ensuring all content is up-to-date and in line with our corporate objectives and following the approved design and development process to ensure consistency in all materials and in line with the Training Academy brand.
You will be proactive in maintaining and growing a deep technical awareness along with a solid commercial knowledge, all enabling you to consult and deliver appropriate solutions to our customers, building loyalty and rapport as you go.
What You'll Need
Viasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, genetics, age, or veteran status or any other applicable legally protected status or characteristic.
