
Senior Business Analyst (Financial Accounting)
Role Summary
Our client is transforming the finance reporting from all the regions and entities globally. As part of this transformation program, our client would also require to meet the Group objectives to consolidate its data to the Group platform OFS (One Financial System). Our client is looking for a suitable Senior Business Analyst to join the Division.
The role is required to work closely with:
- Group Finance team on the requirements finalization with new core banking system and mapping.
- Vendor/consulting team on the data mappings and functionalities to align with Group Finance requirements.
- Finance Head Office team in Europe who is the Product Owner.
- Document Functional Specification and obtain business validation.
- Users from Asia and Europe on requirements and UAT validation.
Main Responsibilities
- Organize workshops with respective stakeholders and assess business needs.
- Perform study with the Group Finance and Vendor/consulting team to align on the requirements, data mappings and functionalities/scope.
- Drive and plan the application impact analysis after Business workshop.
- Ensure the functional mappings/data comply with local and Group expectations.
- Documenting detailed business requirements and functional specifications.
- Translate the requirements into non-functional specification for technology teams to develop.
- Conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensuring a smooth transition to new systems.
- Identify any bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with technology teams to ensure seamless integration and development of the application or data interface flows.
- Build and maintain the Backlog of requirements, transformations and adaptations.
- Work with various Stakeholders, to implement the deliverables and to resolve challenges and issues.
- Involvement in full development lifecycle, from Elaboration->Build->Transition->Production.
- Adhere to WMIS Governance and guiding principles.
- Business requirements consolidation and formal validation from sponsor/product owner.
- Prepare migration and testing strategy consolidation and formal validation.
- Coordinate with all teams, from same division or other divisions, working on the same program
- Work with the development team, Business analyst, Solution architects, Application SME’s to design the functional solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or relevant fields.
- At least 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Hands on experience in the following areas in IT system implementations: Financial Accounting (Knowledge on Transaction movements, Accruals, Reversals for Trading and Banking book).
- Liquidity Management.
- Credit-risk (Collateral Management, Counterparty Risk).
- Regulatory Reporting (Knowledge on Basel IV, SACCR preferred).
- Core banking (Knowledge on Loan/Deposit lifecycle).
- Knowledge on Performance and Profitability indicators for the assets managed by the bank.
- Knowledge on Temenos/TRANSACT.
- Strong knowledge in Accounting movement and Accounting scheme (GL) setup with Temenos/Transact knowledge, Liquidity management and Credit Risk Reporting (in order of priority).
- Prior experience delivering Financial Accounting and regulatory projects with multiple sub-streams and source systems.
- Strong Business Analysis experience.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with multiple teams and other stakeholders to maintain harmony.
- Drive, organize all deliverables, monitor and track the progress to closure.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role in the Banking Wealth Management industry.
- Experience working throughout the entire IT project life cycle; including analyzing and documenting requirements, workshops, testing and stakeholder management throughout.
- Good knowledge and working capability of product life cycle like loans, deposits, forex, derivatives, Guarantees, securities etc.
- Should have knowledge on Accounting/Finance group reporting system implementation lifecycle.
- Should have good knowledge and understanding of the information flow and various business functions in a financial services/bank.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Able to conduct the workshops with business teams and challenging the requirements.
- Collaborate with teams and work with groups effectively spread across various regions.
- Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude.
- Responsible and good organization of the work in each project phase.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
