Perform waste recycling, chemical blending, filling of chemicals, loading/unloading of ISO-tankers, chemical sampling at various locations and packing of finish products. Computer entry and various production/warehousing activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for processing a variety of bulk liquid waste through the operation of Distillation Unit resulting in the best possible recovery of customers' hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Run distillation units by connecting feed, product, and sludge tanks and apply proper amount of heat from boilers and maintain operating hourly logs to ensure that unit is operating at peak efficiency.
- Charge and discharge waste with appropriate amounts of liquid to run product to specifications.
- Perform compatibility testing on a variety of hazardous materials to be mixed for recovery to ensure that mixtures are in compliance with recovery specifications.
- Collect recovery samples and route to laboratory along with appropriate paperwork to ascertain the quality of recovery.
- Load, unload, and sample bulk tankers/drums/totes to ascertain accuracy of hazardous materials contents prior to applying the recovery process.
- Other duties as assigned in DU and/or by the Production Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Min 3 – 5 years experience in DU operations is preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak English to interpret technical documents, such as equipment manuals and P&ID.
- Knowledge of safety protocols in chemical handling and processing.
- Experience in control systems (DCS/SCADA).
Additional Information:
- Comfortable performing 12-hour rotating shifts.
- Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Responding to Emergencies in the Workplace.
- Ability to be exposed to various chemicals and compounds including fumes and smells [Hazardous chemicals].
- Require entering confined spaces and performing work in an elevated environment.
- Valid Forklift license.
