Manages site(s) based HSE Management systems and leads HSE Improvement activities for a site(s)Key Activities:
  • Collaborating with site leader/HSE Manager and other departments to drive continuous HSE improvement. Manage multiple priorities and multiple sites to ensure HSE objectives are met. Ability to complete projects to support the Global Regional Manager objectives.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to improve HSE performance above basic legal and company compliance. Identity efficiencies and new technologies to further drive the companies HSE and sustainability objectives at the site level.
  • Complete HSE reporting for HSE programs and incidents in Smiths/JC database. Drive the sites incident management program including incident classification, investigation and creating actions.
  • Support assigned site(s) in planning and execution of Safety Leading Indicator program activities and Smiths JC initiatives including the internal and/or ISO management system.
  • Develop safety programs based on incident and audit trends to reduce workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Ensure site training program addresses gaps in knowledge. Develop programs to improve Site Leadership and employee understanding of HSE programs and cultures.
  • Support the review and management of the Contractor Safety Management and Work Permit Program as required to ensure a safe work environment. Ensure Emergency Management Practices are robust and properly tested and understood.
  • Lead in conjunction with Site Leadership. Drive and manage internal and external HSE audits for assigned sites and manage the reports in PRISM.
  • Collaborate with peers and other employees to align HSE and company objectives across working groups. Drive continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities:
  • HSE Data Collection and Validation; Trends analysis
  • Entry, implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintaining site(s) Internal and/or ISO HSE Management System. Conducting HSE internal audits & Managing External Audits for compliance, regulatory or management system as assigned.
  • Implementing HSE programs such as Leading Indicator Program, Industrial Hygiene Monitoring, HSE Training Plan, SDS Management System, All legally required programs, etc.
  • Conducting HSE reviews for new processes & projects.
  • Implementation of HSE programs; reduction in environmental impact for site(s) activities
Qualifications
  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • 3 to 5 years HSE experience plus strong working knowledge of HSE regulations and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 HSE management systems required.
  • Demonstrated skills must include strong written and oral communication, creative problem solving, process improvement, conflict resolution and process deployment administration and change management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal HSE regulations
  • 30% travel is required
  • Fluent in English Language
