About the role
As a Strategy & Planning Intern at The Great Room (“TGR”), you will play a dual role in supporting the strategic initiatives of the company and the operational efficiency of the Finance team. This is an unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, financial analysis and accounting operations while working closely with cross-functional teams.
The Finance Intern will report to the Strategy & Planning Manager.
What you’ll do
Strategy and Planning Support
- Support the preparation of high-quality monthly business reports, business cases, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Facilitate cross-functional initiatives to optimise business processes and outcomes
- Assist in building detailed financial models to support investment decisions and strategic planning
- Provide administrative and analytical support to the Strategy and Planning Manager in key projects.
Business Performance Monitoring
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct variance analysis and generate reports, and provide insights to the senior management team on business performance
- Analyse data to uncover actionable insights and help identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue growth
- Support the design and implementation of dashboards and reporting tools
Finance and Accounting Operations
- Perform bank reconciliation of receipts and payments
- Hands on exposure to prepare full sets of accounts
- Support the compliance of finance processes across the Company
- Assist in ad hoc assignments as required
- Build a database of historical assumptions used for fitout costs and develop a robust way to estimate capex for future new locations
Who you are
Looking for:
- 6-month internship (min. 3-month commitment: Full time) From July 2025 onwards
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or the equivalent
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) for dashboard creation is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident interacting within the team and cross-company teams at various levels of seniority
- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and detail-oriented mindset with a strong desire to learn and contribute.
