We are hiring an Accountant for one of our clients in commodities trading. The role sits within their Finance department, which oversees all accounting, reporting, tax, and financial control matters.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, including assessing the impact of new standards.
- Manage monthly closings, consolidations, and reconcile financial data with trading systems.
- Prepare financial reports and statements, and conduct monthly performance and variance analysis.
- Support external audits and internal control reviews.
- Assist in finance system improvements and business intelligence projects.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Senior Accounting or Finance Manager.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
- Be available for extended hours during key reporting periods.
- Ensure adherence to financial, trading, and compliance regulations.
Essential Qualities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent with minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Preferred: solid knowledge of mark-to-market accounting in a trading environment.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to details as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Tech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
