Our Therapy Support Associate plays a vital role in supporting therapists before, during, and after therapy sessions, ensuring seamless service delivery. This position is integral to the administration and operations of the department, contributing to a safe, effective, and efficient therapeutic environment.

Clinical Duties

  • Carry out prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities as instructed by therapist
  • Assist therapists in assessing clients’ status for suitability to start therapy sessions or to continue with therapy sessions
  • Conduct routine assessments and outcome measures for clients as prescribed by therapists
  • Record therapy sessions according to template sets
  • Communicate information of therapy sessions to therapists
  • Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed by therapists
  • Manage and conduct therapy sessions independently for straightforward cases after discussion with therapists
  • Conduct basic or routine group therapy
  • Ensure proper use of equipment including technological-assisted rehabilitation equipment

Administrative and Program Related Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas
  • Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure volunteer’s compliance to procedures
  • Assist in setting up and carrying out trial of new equipment/ projects
  • Provide and support in the training of therapy assistants/ senior therapy assistants
  • Participate in case discussion with the clinical team using a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach
  • Participate in continuous professional development

Requirement

  • Degree in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy
  • At least 2 years of experiences in similar position in healthcare sector
  • Must have an interest to work with stroke survivors
  • A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patient, gentle disposition with empathy and strong listening skills
