We are looking for an individual to provide an independent and objective assessment and assurance designed to add value and improve respective audit area, ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, control, governance processes and compliance to regulatory and internal requirements. In addition, you will also assist in identifying possible failure and gap in the bank control environment towards investigation.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the timely execution of internal audits in accordance with the audit plan, as well as assisting with other audit matters and projects
- Conduct risk assessment of assigned areas in established/required timelines
- Evaluation the rating of risk areas relevant to the activities under review in order to establish the audit plan, in consultation with audit manager.
- Assessment of units’ process and workflow, and identify incremental risks and incorporate them in audit planning.
- Identification objectives of audit review as well as preparation and/ or review the audit steps to effectively address audit objectives.
- Review audit works and approach conducted by auditor and ensure that breakdown and failure in control environment are highlighted and rectified.
- Review the overall assessment of the auditable areas from audit check and testing carried out, with objective to provide conclusion of the control environment.
- Ensure that the testing are properly carried out and documented accordingly by team members.
- Reviewing and discussing the audit findings and recommendations with auditees to ensure that responses and actions would be taken are relevant and address the risk areas.
- Using professional judgment to determine whether the findings are significant enough to be reported.
- Preparation of audit reports, comprising of assessment of risk and controls, summary of findings, and outcome, conclusion of the audit review and other management and performance components, where applicable.
- Assist in the finalization of audit reporting within turnaround time.
- Drive decisions on the implementation of audit methodology towards the risk area scoped in audit review and testing.
- Assess and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of control design after review of the unit’s risk and control framework.
- To constantly enhance the understanding and knowledge of the various types of operations in Banking in order for the audits to be planned and carried out effectively and efficiently and proper identification of high risk areas.
- To cultivate proper skills and tools in developing effective and efficient approach in assessing risk areas and early detection of potential fraud and possible circumvention of governance.
- To introduce new processes for unit governance with objective to strengthen control environment and equalize them with business unit’s concern of practicality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/Banking & Finance/Business.
- Minimum of 8 years of audit experience in banks/stockbroking and financial institutions.
- Meticulous with critical thinking skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and vast knowledge on banking process.
- Appropriate leadership and management skills.
- CPA/CA/CIA/CFSA/CAMS/CISA certification preferred.
