Financial Reporting & Tax Manager – APAC
We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting & Tax Manager to join our finance team in Singapore. This pivotal role is designed for an individual with expertise in financial reporting and tax compliance. The successful candidate will oversee the financial reporting functions across the APAC region while managing the tax compliance processes in the region. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring timely and accurate reporting, as well as optimizing tax-related processes to support the business's continued growth.
You will work closely with the APAC Finance Director and various stakeholders across finance, accounting, and operations to deliver comprehensive financial insights and ensure full compliance with tax regulations. This role primarily focuses on financial reporting (80%) with a secondary focus on tax compliance (20%).
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting (80%):
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports across the APAC region.
- Collaborate with the APAC Finance Director in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
- Manage and ensure the accuracy of financial consolidations for the APAC region.
- Optimize financial reporting systems and processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of deliverables.
- Provide detailed and insightful financial analysis to guide business decisions.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., accounting, legal, operations) to align financial reporting with strategic business goals.
Tax Compliance & Reporting (20%):
- Manage all tax compliance matters for CHAGEE in the APAC region, including GST, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and other tax-related obligations.
- Ensure the timely and accurate submission of tax returns, regulatory filings, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with external tax advisors and authorities to resolve tax-related issues and ensure adherence to local tax laws and regulations.
- Regularly monitor and report on the company’s tax position to the APAC Finance Director, ensuring minimal tax risk and optimized tax planning.
System Management:
- Oversee the financial reporting systems and tools, ensuring they are optimized for data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams and IT to drive automation and process improvements across financial and tax systems.
- Lead projects aimed at enhancing reporting capabilities and system upgrades to support both financial reporting and tax processes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., accounting, legal, operations) to provide tax guidance on business decisions and support financial reporting.
- Assist the APAC Finance Director in strategic decision-making by providing relevant tax and financial insights.
Ad-hoc Projects:
- Contribute to special projects such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax audits, and system upgrades.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations across the APAC region to ensure compliance and provide strategic tax planning support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting and tax roles, with a strong focus on APAC markets.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, tax compliance, and systems management.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international tax laws, particularly in the APAC region.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex tax and financial data.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams.
