JOB SUMMARY

Operating various types of metal cutting, boring, milling and grinding machines to produce and modify simple/complex metal parts to clearly defined engineering drawings and other specifications. Some jobs may involve setting the machines to carry out the machining operation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Produce metal parts to defined specifications by the operation of various types of metal cutting machines

· Ensure accuracy of work by using measuring instruments.

· Ensure that finished product/part fit with other parts of assembly

· Clean and oil equipment

· General housekeeping at workstation

· Able to solve problem independently and advance trouble shooting.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

· NITEC in Precision Engineering or its equivalent

· Minimum 5 years of working experience in a toolmaking or engineering environment

JOB-RELATED SKILLS & PRE-REQUISITES

· Toolroom machining skills, such as milling, drilling, grinding, turning machine, EDM and wirecut.
