Position Overview

As an Associate in Apollo’s APAC Credit team, the candidate will assist with the preparation of financial models, business presentations, materials for investment committees, portfolio reviews, and client pitchbooks. He/ she will be responsible for maintaining APAC Credit and High Grade Alpha pipeline files and generate reports and presentations, as well as support the origination, modelling and structuring of new transactions to continue growing the platform. The candidate will be responsible for generating and updating credit memos on new investments as well as on positions currently held on Apollo’s books. Ideal candidates will have one or two years of relevant experience working in finance on the buy side or sell side and possess strong quantitative and leadership skills, as well as ability to work in a pressured environment and communicate effectively with others.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial models, business presentations, materials for investment committees, and client pitchbooks
  • Maintain pipeline files and generate reports and presentations (APAC Credit and High Grade Alpha)
  • Preparation of materials for credit monitoring of public and private investments held on Apollo’s books
  • Working with the APAC Credit team on execution / structuring of new private credit transactions (High Grade Alpha, sponsors, ABS, senior unsecured, etc)
  • Coordinating with sector analysts in New York, London and APAC
  • Assist with the origination of new APAC private transactions by preparing materials and presentations
  • Assist with the monitoring of Apollo’s investments
  • Managing and publishing portfolio summaries
  • Assist with operational issues related to closing of private transactions
  • Perform other duties as required by position

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum three to four years of sell side/buy side experience with strong analytical skills of financial statements and excellent modelling skills
  • Full proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent Financial Modelling skills a must
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment and communicate effectively with others
  • Effective written and oral English communications skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial statements
  • Experience underwriting transactions in two or three different economic sectors and/or regions
  • M&A background/experience
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment and communicate effectively with others
