The Digital department at INSEAD supports the school's global operations by delivering cutting-edge technological solutions that enhance teaching, research, and administrative functions. It ensures seamless integration of digital tools and infrastructure across all campuses, fostering innovation and operational efficiency.

INSEAD is seeking a Senior Manager Business Intelligence to join our Digital department. This is a full-time, permanent contract position based at either our Asia Campus in Singapore or our Europe Campus in Fontainebleau. A hybrid working model is in place – 3 days on campus, 2 days from home.

Your role within the team

  • Develop and Execute BI Strategy: Enhance and implement the BI strategy in alignment with institutional goals, covering people, stakeholder engagement, technology stack, capabilities, and operations.
  • Lead and Manage the BI Team: Hire, mentor, and oversee a geographically dispersed BI team (3 staff + 4 contractors across Singapore, France, and India), fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Be the primary contact for business stakeholders across departments (M&R, FP&A, Finance, Advancement, DP & EDP). Co-lead steering committees with the BI PM and collaborate with IT teams (Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Digital Delivery).
  • Oversee BI Projects: Manage the full lifecycle of BI projects, ensuring timely, scope-aligned, and budget-conscious delivery. Facilitate collaboration with Data Quality and Data Science teams for upstream and downstream synergies.
  • Ensure Technical Excellence: Maintain expertise in the BI tech stack (PowerBI, Datamart, Talend, ETL concepts) and emerging technologies (Microsoft Fabric, DataLake). Identify training opportunities to keep the team’s skills current and relevant.
  • Promote a Data-Driven Culture: Champion BI adoption across the institution, driving self-service analytics through initiatives like webinars, training, and maintaining a BI community site.

The ideal candidate profile

  • The BI Manager will be responsible for leading the BI team, driving reporting strategy, and ensuring the successful development and delivery of business intelligence solutions. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and strong business acumen
  • 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence domain, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role
  • 3-4 years of experience leading multicultural, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones Solid understanding of ETL concepts, Data warehouse, DataMart in an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience in the past is preferred
  • Expertise in BI technology stack: PowerBI, Talend, or MS Fabric. Hands-on experience in the past is preferred
  • Hands-on experience in managing vendors and external contractors
  • Knowledge about CI/CD in reporting area
  • Excellent communicator and presenter, capable of explaining technical concepts in business terms
  • Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Passionate about data driven insights, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English
