What the role is:To support national social and economic objectives through public housing policies and programmes in the areas of HDB estate upgrading and rejuvenation (e.g. Home Improvement Programme, Neighbourhood Renewal Programme), as well as management of HDB commercial properties and facilities. The key responsibilities are: a) To formulate and review HDB's estate upgrading and rejuvenation policies and programmes to improve the living environment and maintain the high liveability of HDB flats. b) To manage the distribution of Government resources for estate upgrading and rejuvenation at the national level across estates, and guide implementation of the projects on the ground. c) To formulate and review policies on the provision and supply of HDB commercial and industrial properties, car parks and other facilities to meet changing needs and local demands. d) To develop rejuvenation and redevelopment programmes and strategies for our estates nationwide.What you will be working on:To help build a productive, professional, and trusted real estate agency industry. Specifically, officers will oversee the work of the Council of Estate Agencies to: a) Implement the Real Estate Industry Transformation Map to help the industry become more productive and remain competitive. b) Regulate estate agents to ensure a high level of professionalism in the sector. c) Public education and outreach to ensure consumers are aware of their rights, and estate agents adhere to regulations and guidelines. Officers are expected to keep abreast of the dynamic international and local developments in the estate agency industry, and distil the implications for government policies. In this role, you will get to tackle diverse challenges, addressing issues straddling national priorities as well as localised ground concerns. Officers can also look forward to on-the-job training opportunities related to policy making, public communications, speech writing and inter-agency coordination.What we are looking for:Interested applicants should possess strong analytical skills and excel in navigating complex issues with sharp policy acumen. These include analysis and distilling trade-offs in diverse areas such as urban planning and social considerations, economic and fiscal analysis, as well as quantitative and qualitative research. Applicants should be strong team players and comfortable driving discussions and negotiations with other agencies.
