
Deputy Project Manager
Job Description
Responsible for managing a project to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality. Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking project activities. Coordinate between different teams (SAS, Java, MQ, Kafka, DBA, ETL, Data, Infrastructure). Ensure smooth execution of various backend processes.
Assist in managing projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget.
Collaborate with project teams to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
Collaborate with vendors, business users, and technical teams to resolve issues..
Monitor project progress and contribute to the identification and resolution of issues and risks.
Participate in resource allocation and budget monitoring.
Prepare and support the presentation of project status reports to stakeholders.
Engage in continuous learning and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Assist project managers in coordinating project activities.
Participate in cross-functional project teams as needed.
Technical Coordination & Oversight: Work with various development teams handling Java, J2EE ETL jobs, SAS applications, DBA. Oversee ETL processes and data flow into Oracle Data Lake using OGG & OGGBD. Ensure real-time data exchange using Kafka, MQ, and OGG DB.
Monitor performance and troubleshoot system failures related to SAS, Java, and Oracle backend.
Maintain project documentation, including design specs, test plans, and progress reports. Ensure all developments comply with IT security and compliance guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role
Proven experience in project and program management
Proficiencies in project management methodologies, tools, and software
A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology
Experience in Public Sector and Application Management projects is a must
Other Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are a plus
